The 5.5 pump was introduced in 1979 to fill a gap in the product line between the series 5 and 6. The 5.5 is the first in the MARCH product line to employ the true involute design with a closed impeller magnet assembly.
As in the previously described number 5 series, the 5.5 pump is available in glass filled polypropylene, carbon filled Kynar® (PVDF) and stainless steel construction. Optional bushings, "O" rings and spindle combinations are available. The TE-5.5S-MD incorporates a carbon bushing as standard. The TE-5.5-MD pump is equipped with a full size 3.187 inch impeller magnet assembly but may be trimmed down to a minimum diameter of 2.375 inches for solutions with specific gravities of up to 2.0.
In addition to the standard TEFC dual voltage motor, explosion proof, three phase, and air cooled motors are available for the 5.5 pump.
The TE-5.5-MD pumps are used in a wide variety of chemical and industrial
applications with capacities of 30 GPM and 41 feet of head.

41' maximum.

The AC motor is a 1/5 HP, 3200 rpm, 115 Volt, single phase, 50/60 Hz motor.
All other 5.5 models use a 1/3 HP, 3450 rpm, 115/230 Volt, single phase,
TEFC motor. Explosion Proof motors available.
Polypropylene, ceramic, Viton®, carbon filled Kynar®, 316 stainless
steel, carbon bushings and other bushing materials are available.
Many applications include chemicals of all kinds. Kynar® plastic construction can handle strong halogen solutions and certain strong chromic or sulfuric acid solutions. Film processor, silver recovery, ice makers.
